  • Compare and contrast the U.S. Constitution with state, territorial, and provincial constitutions.
  • Explain the significance of these similarities and differences.

Materials:
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Copies of the U.S. Constitution and state, territorial, and provincial constitutions
  • Access to the Internet to review the Additional Resources
Introduction (5 minutes):
  • Begin by asking the students to share what they know about the U.S. Constitution.
  • Write their responses on the whiteboard.
  • Explain that the U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land and provides the framework for the federal government.
  • Inform the students that they will be comparing and contrasting the U.S. Constitution with state, territorial, and provincial constitutions.
