Many high school students struggle to talk about their experiences clearly and confidently, especially in interviews and college applications. This lesson teaches students how to use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to turn personal challenges into structured, compelling stories.
This lesson is designed for high school students in grades 9–12. The full lesson takes approximately 80–90 minutes and can be delivered in one extended class period or split across two 45-minute sessions. The timing includes guided reflection, STAR storytelling, personal pitch development, peer feedback, and class discussion.
