The Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs defines innovation as making meaningful change to improve programs, services, and processes that create new value for students and stakeholders. A research study was undertaken to understand how American MBA programs are teaching MBA students about the skill of innovation. A descriptive survey research design using quantitative methodology was used to sample American MBA leaders from ACBSP-accredited universities. The presentation will include findings on how MBA programs are developing innovation in their students, perceptions of MBA programs’ leadership on the importance of innovation skill preparation of employers who hire MBA graduates, and curriculum approaches used by MBA program leadership to develop innovation in their programs.
