“Doing Business in China: Global Opportunities and Risks,” introduces students to the complex economic, legal, and ethical landscape of operating in or sourcing from China. Using real-world examples and expert insights from Dr. Lee Moore’s webinar China’s Backstory, students will explore four key regions—Taiwan, Xinjiang, Mainland China, and Hong Kong—to understand how global businesses navigate geopolitical tensions, intellectual property challenges, forced labor concerns, and regulatory environments.
Through a combination of lecture, case study jigsaw activities, ethical debates, and a business simulation, students will develop critical thinking and decision-making skills. The lesson aligns with NBEA standards on government regulation, business risk, and international career opportunities. Designed for secondary students, this 50-minute session helps learners assess global supply chain decisions and evaluate reputational risk and sourcing ethics. A complete Teacher Edition and Student Edition are included, along with working hyperlinks to curated resources.
