Overview
This interactive webinar invites participants into a facilitated professional conversation focused on the realities of using case studies in business education. Educators will explore what they want case studies to achieve, what works well in classrooms (and why), and where case studies commonly break down. The session examines why some cases resonate with students while others fall flat, looking beyond the brand itself to factors such as structure, supporting materials, and time demands.
Participants will share practical strategies for adapting case studies under real classroom constraints, reducing preparation time, and keeping the instructional focus on analysis, discussion, and decision-making. The session emphasizes instructional design principles that support effective case-based learning, with opportunities for reflection, polling, and guided discussion throughout.
By the end, attendees will be able to:
- Identify what business educators want case studies to achieve in the classroom.
- Examine factors that contribute to successful and unsuccessful case study implementation.
- Recognize common challenges teachers face when using case studies.
- Apply practical strategies for adapting case studies to fit real classroom constraints.
