A communication lesson on the difference between hearing and listening, active listening, and strategies for listening for meaning.

Objectives:

  • Distinguish between hearing and listening.
  • Differentiate between active listening and passive listening
  • Develop listening comprehension skills using the basic principles of focused listening and linking one’s own thoughts to the flow of ideas in a conversation.
  • Identify practices and strategies to listen for meaning.
