Objectives:

  • Students will be able to define what a value proposition is and its importance to a business.
  • Students will be able to create a value proposition for a product or service solution.
  • Students will be able to analyze and evaluate different value propositions.

Age Level: Early/late secondary school

National Standards: Complies with NBEA Entrepreneurship 2023 Standard III.A.11. Describe the value proposition for a product or service solution.

Materials:

  • Whiteboard and markers or projector and screen for displaying slides
  • Handouts or online resources for note-taking and reference
  • Value proposition template for student groups
  • Flipchart paper and markers for group brainstorming and note-taking
  • Post-it notes or index cards for group activities and feedback
  • Computer and internet access for researching and analyzing different value propositions
  • Optional: Sample value propositions from well-known companies for analysis and discussion
