Entrepreneurship: Identifying Trends and Solving Problems through Entrepreneurship

A middle school entrepreneurship lesson on spotting social trends and how entrepreneurs solve problems for different stakeholders.

Objectives:

  • Students will be able to recognize trends in society that can lead to entrepreneurial opportunities.
  • Students will be able to explain how entrepreneurs solve problems for various groups and stakeholders.

Age Level: Middle school/early secondary school

National Standards: Complies with NBEA Entrepreneurship 2023 Standards:

II.A.2: Explain how entrepreneurs solve problems for various groups and stakeholders

II.A.3. Identify the various groups and stakeholders impacted by business

Materials:

  • Whiteboard or chalkboard
  • Markers or chalk
  • Laptop/computer with internet access and projector
  • Handouts with case studies and discussion questions
  • List of companies (one per group)
  • Chart paper
  • Markers
