First Yearbook for Effective Methods in Business Education - 1928 Eastern Commercial Teachers Association

This publications represents the first "yearbook" or AKA "Effective Methods for Teaching Business Ed" from 1928

PURPOSE OF THE E. C. T. A. 1928 YEARBOOK

We hope this yearbook may prove helpful in centering the enthusiastic interest, best thought, and tireless effort of all American commercial teachers and administrative officers upon an intensified study: 1. Of a philosophy of commercial education to become a guide in the choice of life values that will tend to the achievement of the highest good. 2. Of "business as a social institution" or of "business life in its functional relationships with the whole span of life experiences." 3. Of business education in its functional relationships with the whole field of education. 4. Of the extent to which we now have and have not research materials or carefully tested knowledge that will serve as valuable educational subject matter in a study of functional business life. 5. Of research itself as a scientific method or reflective-thinking procedure of compiling and interpreting further needed facts to construct a functional business education and a functional business life in keeping with a deserving philosophy of commercial education.
