Information Technology: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

An introductory lesson on artificial intelligence: what it is, how society uses it, its effect on the future of work, and its benefits and risks.

Objectives:

  • By the end of this lesson, the learner will:
  1. Define artificial intelligence and describe its key components.
  2. Discuss the different ways AI is currently being used in society.
  3. Analyze the impact of AI on the future of work.
  4. Engage in a brief discussion about the benefits and risks of AI.

Grading and Assessment:

  • Multiple choice quiz and/or additional presentation options available.

Materials Needed:

  • Whiteboard and markers for discussion.
  • Computer with Internet and Display if videos and presentations are watched in class.
