College students with scientific, social science, and business majors are expected to use APA 6.0 style in reports, especially in their major courses. Students are not confident with their abilities to use the APA 6.0 style and use a variety of sources to create citations and references.
This article provides business educators with (a) reasons for teaching APA 6.0 style references and (b) a variety of interesting teaching ideas and resources to help students develop APA citation and reference documentation skills. These strategies include online tutorials, manipulatives, citation makers, website search, and such applications as Microsoft Word and Bibme.org. Together with knowledge and activities presented, business educators will be able to help students effectively develop APA 6.0 style citation and referencing skills.
