Universal Design in Higher Education Learning Management Systems

Two disability-related civil rights laws govern the obligations of post secondary institutions with respect to the accessibility of digital learning materials: Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (source: UDL ON CAMPUS - Universal Design for Learning in Higher Education). What must you do to make your course complaint with these federal enactments? This session provides an overview and checklist for universal design in learning management systems that will assist you in meeting these requirements.
